The easiest way to reach Cartagena is by flying into Rafael Núñez International Airport (CTG), located just 15–20 minutes from the historic center and most hotels.

There are direct flights from several major U.S. cities (including Miami, Fort Lauderdale, New York, and Atlanta), as well as convenient connections through Bogotá or Panama City.

We recommend booking flights early, as Cartagena is a popular destination.

When booking flights, we suggest exploring options beyond Avianca, as many travelers have recently experienced changes in service and comfort. We have found American Airlines and Copa Airlines to be reliable choices with convenient routes to Cartagena.

The airport is very close to the city, making arrival simple.

Options include:

Authorized airport taxis (available just outside arrivals with fixed rates)

Ride-share apps like Uber or DiDi

Pre-arranged hotel transportation

Typical travel time is about 15–25 minutes depending on traffic.

We recommend staying in one of the following areas, all convenient to wedding events:

- Ciudad Amurallada (Historic Center): Colonial architecture, walkable streets, and walking distance from the wedding events.

- Getsemaní: Vibrant, artistic neighborhood with great restaurants and nightlife. 5-10 minutes away from the wedding events.

- Bocagrande: Beachfront hotels and modern amenities and casinos. 10-15 minutes away from the wedding events.

- Manga: A quieter residential neighborhood just minutes from the Old Town — full of local charm and very close to the historic center. It also happens to be where Felipe grew up 🙂. 10-15 minutes away from the wedding events.

- Morros area: oceanfront apartments and modern hotels with a quieter atmosphere. 20 minutes away from the wedding events.

For larger families or groups, we recommend exploring house rentals on Airbnb or Vrbo in the Historic Center, Getsemaní, or apartments in Bocagrande, Morros or Manga.
