Which airport should I fly into?
Please fly into Rafael Núñez International Airport (CTG) in Cartagena, which is about 15–20 minutes from most hotels in the historic center and Bocagrande.
Do I need a visa to travel to Colombia?
Many travelers (including U.S., Canada, and EU citizens) do not need a visa for short visits.
How far is the airport from the wedding events?
Cartagena is very accessible. Most venues are within a short drive (15–25 minutes) from the airport.
What transportation should I use from the airport?
Authorized airport taxis or ride-share apps (like Uber) are easy and safe options. To move inside the city, we recommend using Uber, not getting a taxi by hand.
Where should we stay?
We recommend staying in the Historic Center (Ciudad Amurallada), Getsemaní, Manga, or Bocagrande, all are convenient and beautiful areas.
Staying in Historic Center allows you to be at walking distance from every wedding event.
You can find more detailed information about this in our Travel page.
What will the weather be like?
Cartagena is warm, humid, and breezy year-round. Expect temperatures around 25–31°C (77–88°F), especially in the evenings.
What should I wear?
For wedding event dress code, please refer to the Dress Code page in our website.
What currency is used?
Colombian Pesos (COP). Credit cards are widely accepted, but having some cash is helpful for small purchases. You can use ATMs at the airport or in the city — often the easiest option.
Is tipping customary?
Yes — 10% is standard in restaurants (often included), and small tips are appreciated for services.
Is Cartagena safe?
Cartagena is a popular tourist destination. As in any city, stay aware of your surroundings and use common travel precautions.
Do I need any vaccines?
No special vaccines are required for Cartagena.
Is the water safe to drink?
Bottled water is recommended for visitors.
